It’s Not Too Late to Get Your GA4 Installed & In Place!
As many business owners know, Google Analytics 4 (GA4) has officially taken over Universal Analytics as Google’s next-generation measurement solution. However, many users who put off making this transition were surprised to discover that their Universal Analytics accounts still showed to be collecting data even after July 1st – the original deadline for making the switch to GA4.
On July 1st, 2023, Google made an official announcement in regard to the delay on their Twitter account, stating:
“Today, we begin shutting down Universal Analytics as we welcome Google Analytics 4. This will not happen overnight, so some Universal Analytics properties may continue to process data. However, all properties have now been added to the queue, and those that have not completed the upgrade will jumpstart on a rolling basis.”
Basically, Google has let us know that while it does take some time for sites to be shut down, it will happen in the near future. For those who may have put off making the transition to Google Analytics 4 yet are still retrieving data from Universal Analytics, you are not alone! You also still have time.
