Google Algorithm Update April 2020
Today, Google announced that it was rolling out its second update to its core algorithm in 2020. Its last update was in January. Although Google tweaks its algorithms continuously, core updates only happen every few months, or so. SEOs and webmasters should monitor their search engine rankings and traffic to determine if the current algorithm update results in a significant positive or negative shift in your site’s performance.
As Google always asserts, a drop in performance does not equate to doing something “wrong”, only that as websites and search traffic evolve, different kinds of characteristics evolve to measure the quality or pages and content. While the search giant is not always explicit in how their algorithm might have changed, they, along with many researches will no doubt provide insight in the coming days about what site owners can do to keep their sites performing at the highest levels. Stay tuned.
